How we bill

Fees you can explain to a board — or a spouse

Lawsera puts the arrangement in writing before work starts. No rotating intake desk. No surprise invoices.

Written scope first

You receive the work list, fee path and who appears on the file before you instruct.

Named attorney

The partner on the consultation is the partner who signs the advice — not a rotating desk.

Clear reporting

Monthly status in plain English. Disbursements and court fees itemised separately.

Fee questions

Answers before you instruct

If something is still unclear after reading these, book a consultation — the first call is with an attorney.

Ask about fees
Is the consultation fee credited?
Yes. If you instruct within 14 days, the $350 consultation is credited against the matter retainer.
Are retainers fixed or estimated?
Most advisory and transactional work is fixed or capped in writing. Contested litigation is billed hourly against a budget we review with you.
What about court and filing costs?
Disbursements — filing fees, process servers, experts — are itemised separately and approved before we spend them.
Can fees be paid in stages?
Often yes. On larger matters we stage the retainer against milestones so cash flow stays predictable.
